سابقه و هدف: یکی از موارد جدی تهدیدکننده‌ی سلامت، شیوع رفتارهای پرخطر در میان نوجوانان می‌باشد. نوجوانی، دوره‌ای است که در آن اغلب افراد دست به خودکشی برای مقابله با احساس افسردگی، اضطراب، ناکارآمدی، افت اعتماد به نفس و عدم رضایت از زندگی می‌زنند. بر این اساس، پژوهش حاضر با هدف تعیین روابط ساختاری حمایت اجتماعی با افکار خودکشی با نقش واسطه‌ای رضایت از زندگی در دانش‌آموزان انجام شد.
مواد و روش‌‌ها: مطالعه از نوع مقطعی بود که بر روی ۲۴۰ نفر از دانش‌آموزان پسر پایه‌ی نهم در شهر بابل انجام شد. دانش‌آموزان با استفاده از روش نمونه‌گیری خوشه‌ای دو مرحله‌ای انتخاب شدند. روش جمع‌آوری داده‌ها از طریق خودگزارش‌دهی با استفاده از پرسش‌نامه‌ی مقیاس چندوجهی حمایت اجتماعی ادراک شده، مقیاس رضایت از زندگی و پرسش‌نامه‌ی افکار خودکشی بود.
یافته‌ها: یافته‌ها نشان داد که مدل پژوهش، دارای برازش مناسب می‌باشد و مجموع اثرات مسیرهای مستقیم و غیرمستقیم ۸۰ درصد از متغیر افکار خودکشی دانش‌آموزان توسط حمایت اجتماعی و رضایت از زندگی قابل تبیین می‌باشد. همچنین بین مؤلفه‌های حمایت اجتماعی و رضایت از زندگی با افکار خودکشی، همبستگی منفی معنی‌داری وجود داشت.
نتیجه‌گیری: نتایج این پژوهش با تأکید بر ضرورت حمایت‌های اجتماعی و همچنین نقش واسطه‌ای رضایت از زندگی بر افکار خودکشی دانش‌آموزان می‌تواند تلویحات کاربردی برای بهبود وضعیت روان‌شناختی در این گروه سنی ارائه دهد.
