The aims of this study were the evaluation of efficacy of new disinfectants including Sanocil, Alprocide, Bibfort, Javel- dose compared with Micro10 and Deconex on isolated organisms from dentistry units. Methods: This was an in vitro study and the sampling was randomly performed from different parts of dentistry wards and dentistry units. Three units were selected from each ward before disinfection. Overall 120 samples were taken from the selected dentistry units (20 samples from each ward at two steps). The effect of the disinfectants on isolated bacteria was investigated by disk diffusion method (Kirby-Bauer). Data was collected through a questionnaire and analyzed using Paired samples T-test and SPSS software. Results: Out of 120 cultured samples, 98 positive cultures (81.6%) were obtained that 254 strains and 14 bacteria species were isolated that 72.1% of them were gram-positive and 27.9% were also gram-negative bacteria. The most effective disinfectants on pathogenic strains were Deconex with 18.62 mm mean diameters of inhibition zone and Alprocide with 17.22 mm mean diameters of inhibition zone. Conclusion: The results showed that of 6 tested different disinfectants, Deconex and Alprocide were very effective, Sanosil and Javel-dose were relatively good, Bibfort had mild efficacy. however, Micro 10 was relatively weak.
