سابقه و هدف: این پژوهش با هدف بررسی نقش میانجی خستگی از دلسوزی در رابطه‌ی بین مشکلات هیجانی مادر و مشکلات هیجانی و رفتاری کودکان با نیازهای ویژه انجام شد.
مواد و روش‌‌ها: روش پژوهش حاضر، همبستگی از نوع مدل‌یابی است. جامعه‌ی آماری این پژوهش، شامل کلیه‌ی مادران کودکان با نیازهای ویژه در مقطع ابتدایی شهر اراک بود که تعداد ۱۷۱ نفر با استفاده از روش نمونه‌گیری خوشه‌ای تصادفی به ‌عنوان نمونه‌ از این جامعه انتخاب شدند. ابرازهای اندازه‌گیری عبارت‌ بودند از پرسش‌نامه‌ی خستگی از دلسوزی، مقیاس افسردگی، اضطراب و استرس و چک‌لیست رفتاری کودک.
یافته‌ها: نتایج نشان داد که رابطه‌ی آماری مثبت معنی‌داری بین خستگی از دلسوزی مادر با مشکلات هیجانی (۰/۰۰۱ > P) و مشکلات رفتاری (۰/۰۰۱ > P) کودکان با نیازهای ویژه وجود دارد. درحالی‌که اثر مستقیم مشکلات هیجانی مادر بر مشکلات هیجانی (۰/۰۹۳ = P) و مشکلات رفتاری (۰/۸۸۸ = P) کودکان با نیازهای ویژه معنی‌دار نیست اما مشکلات هیجانی مادر، اثر مستقیم بر خستگی از دلسوزی دارد که این مقدار به لحاظ آماری معنی‌دار است (۰/۰۰۱ = P)؛ همچنین، خستگی از دلسوزی مادر به‌ طور مستقیم بر مشکلات هیجانی و رفتاری کودکان با نیازهای ویژه اثر دارد (۰/۰۰۱ = P).
نتیجه‌گیری: مشکلات هیجانی مادر، موجب افزایش خستگی از دلسوزی وی می‌شود و با افزایش خستگی از دلسوزی مادر، مشکلات هیجانی و رفتاری کودکان با نیازهای ویژه افزایش می‌یابد.
