سابقه و هدف: سواد سلامت، از پیامدهای کلیدی برنامه‌های آموزش سلامت در زمینه‌ی عملکرد شیردهی و خودکار آمدی مادر است. این مطالعه با هدف تعیین ارتباط سواد سلامت با خودکارآمدی و عملکرد شیردهی مادران دارای نوزادان بستری در بیمارستان فاطمیه شهر همدان در سال ۱۴۰۱ انجام شد.
مواد و روش‌‌ها: این پژوهش تحلیلی، مقطعی بر روی ۲۱۰ نفر از مادران دارای نوزاد ترم با روش نمونه‌گیری در دسترس صورت گرفت. ابزار گردآوری داده‌ها شامل پرسش‌نامه‌ی سواد سلامت مادری، چک‌لیست ارزیابی شیردهی Bristol و پرسش‌نامه‌ی خودکارآمدی شیردهی بود. تجزیه و تحلیل اطلاعات با استفاده از آزمون‌های توصیفی و استنباطی انجام شد.
یافته‌ها: با توجه به نتایج، میانگین و انحراف معیار نمره‌ی خودکارآمدی، سواد سلامت و عملکرد شیردهی مادر به ترتیب (۲۸/۰۸) ۱۱۷/۰۹، (۸/۵۷) ۴۳/۷۴ و (۰/۸۷) ۷/۳۴ بود. ارتباط معنی‌داری بین سواد سلامت و خودکارآمدی مادران، عملکرد و خودکارآمدی مادران و عملکرد و سواد سلامت مادران مشاهده شد (۰/۰۵ > P).
نتیجه‌گیری: با توجه نتایج مطالعه، پیشنهاد می‌گردد که در مداخلات آموزشی در ارتباط با شیردهی، اطلاعات و آموزش‌ها به شیوه‌ای در اختیار مادران قرار بگیرند که فهم آن‌ها برای مادران ساده باشد و بتوانند به راحتی اطلاعات دریافتی را درک کنند.
