Abstract: (39 Views)
Background and Objective: Caring for a child with a neurological disorder may adversely affect mothers’ psychological and social well-being. This study examined the relationships of general health and social adjustment with resilience among these mothers.
Materials and Methods: In this cross-sectional study, 95 mothers attending Besat Educational and Medical Center, Hamadan, Iran, in 2022 were assessed using the Goldberg General Health Questionnaire, Connor–Davidson Resilience Scale, and Bell Social Adjustment Subscale. Data were analyzed in SPSS 24 using Pearson’s correlation.
Results: Mean scores for general health, resilience, and social adjustment were 25.73±11.40, 70.96±20.79, and 16.83±6.47, respectively. Poorer general health was associated with lower resilience (r=-0.389, P<0.001) and greater social adjustment difficulties (r=0.245, P=0.017). Depression and anxiety showed the strongest associations with resilience, whereas anxiety was the only dimension related to social adjustment.
Conclusion: Psychological screening and family-centered interventions within pediatric healthcare settings
